TRAVELING AS A TALL WOMAN IN COMFORT
The struggle of traveling as a tall woman can become extremely overwhelming and frustrating, especially while on a plane or during a long road trip.
Your comfort should be the first thing you should think about when planning a trip, whether you’re on a plane or another form of transportation.
I’ll tell you a quick story about when I traveled to Qatar and Dubai. I flew with Qatar Airways, and the seats were just okay, but what saved me and my long legs was that the flight wasn’t full, and able to lay across the seats.
So, here’s a list of to-dos tall women should do before traveling.
BEFORE YOUR TRIP
Always research how you will travel. Are you flying, driving, or training it? It’s the key to the comfort level you are looking to attain.
If traveling by plane, always go for first class or comfort seats. It’s the best option for extra leg room, especially if you’re traveling for an extensive amount of time.
If traveling by car, I would rent a car that’s economy and above you can stretch your legs out with no problem.
If traveling by train, you may not have an issue. However, it does depend on which
The bottom line is to do some research and think about how comfortable you want to be and how you want to travel before your trip.
Now, let’s talk packing!
As tall women, our clothes will take up a lot more space when packing as opposed to average height women.
PACKING FOR YOUR TRIP AS A TALL WOMAN
WHAT DOES YOUR WEEK CONSIST OF?
What does your week consist of? Are you going to dinner at night with your significant other or having brunch with the ladies? Or simply relaxing on the beach? These are the questions to know before your start packing for your trip.
Think about the number of outfits you will need for each activity.
- Workout
- Pool
- Dinner
- Brunch
- Excursions
- Walk around town
This is to name a few, but you get my drift. Pack based on your wardrobe needs for each day, and don’t forget comfort.
PACK THE ESSENTIALS
Your essentials are a must on any trip, whether business or leisure. Here is a list of essentials all tall women need when packing for a trip.
- A white button-up ( linen or cotton)
- Linen Pants
- Wide leg Jeans
- Evening dress
- Brunch Dress
- Flat sandals
- A pair of mules
- Heeled sandals
- A clutch
- shoulder bag
This list will get you started and take the guesswork out of what’s needed.
PACKING YOUR SUITCASE
Packing your suitcase will determine how many clothes you take. Here are my tips for packing your clothes as a tall woman.
- Roll instead of fold folding flat
- Use vacuum bags to save more space
- Pack your travel-size toiletries in waterproof bags
- Try the pyramid method
- Place socks inside of shoes
- Stack undergarments within each other
You get my drift, but be smart and don’t overpack.
