THE SECRET OF FINDING YOUR IDEAL STYLE AS A TALL WOMAN

THE SECRET OF FINDING YOUR IDEAL STYLE AS A TALL WOMAN

We know most brands don’t cater to tall women, so most of us struggle with finding and sticking to a style we love, but I’m here to share some ways I found my style despite the lack of designers catering to my frame.

Growing up in New York City, having style was something you just had to have. It was in your face if you didn’t want to see it. From stylish women who were short, tall, petite, or plus-sized, the women were getting busy.

One of the first things I did was, make the decision not to allow this little hiccup to get in my way. I wanted to achieve my ideal style without the hassle of not finding clothes that fit my body, so I did.

STEPS I TOOK TO BEGIN MY JOURNEY

Research

The one step most women overlook is doing research. Research is by far the #1 key when looking to create a style unique to you. When you figure out what your style will look like, you then have to find inspiration. You also should find brands that cater to it. It will help you each time you go shopping.

Choose Your Style

It isn’t the easiest thing since your style can change, and with social media, it can get a little convoluted. I recommend choosing a handful that can go well with one another.

Gather Inspiration

Inspiration is needed when defining your style. It’s the one thing that will help your style evolve. I tell women not to copy but instead pull inspiration. When you copy instead of pull inspiration, you won’t feel and look like the person you are mirroring. Add your touch and make it unique to you.

Remember, others can see when you aren’t comfortable with something.

Shop Your Closet

Shopping in your closet is fun and underrated. You get to rediscover what your clothes can do and determine if you need to replace or buy anything new. You will be surprised at what you’ll find and what new outfits you create with a new outlook on your style.

Create a Shopping List

Now let us get to the good stuff! When you create your shopping list, you add clothes to the list that fill your wardrobe gaps. You probably do not need an entirely new wardrobe as most may think.

To be quite honest, when you try to buy a lot of clothes at once, you will end up not wearing the majority of the clothes. It’s solely due to trends coming and going so fast you end up not wearing most of the garments.

So, to end this article, I would say skies the limit when creating your style!
