When it comes to head attire, I absolutely love Hats and Turbans! I think these accessories can take a boring outfit from blah to chic in seconds. Now, not all Hats are created equal but, they all can defiantly add to a boring outfit, which brings me to my next point. With so many hat companies out there today, it’s quite hard trying to find the one that best suits your personal style and budget.
From brands like Keith and James to more affordable brands like Lack of Color, and Brixton your options are endless. Keep in mind the shape of your face should be accounted for when selecting the perfect had for you. It does make a difference!
KEITH AND JAMES
When it comes to spending money on a hat, Keith and James is a brand that you most certainly will drop some coins on. Their hats range from the low $400’s to the high $700’s. Which is pretty steep for a hat, but they are very unique in style and worth it.
When choosing a hat that fits your style, you will almost feel like you’re a part of a royal family. I say this because they chose to name their hats royal titles like King, Queen, and Prince. I love it! Depending on your style and how large of a brim you like would determine which style you choose. Here are a few of my favorites.
- KING-A classic fedora with a 3 inch curled red brim where the center is creased.
- QUEEN-A classic fedora with a 3.5-inch red brim with a teardrop crown.
- PRINCE- A Shorter red brim with only 2 inches to spare.
- DERBY- A boater-style hat with a 3.5-inch red brim with a flat crown.
- HOLLYWOOD- The largest red brim standing 4.5 inches wide and a slight curl.
LACK OF COLOR
Who doesn’t love Lack of Color Hats! Personally, I think these are by far the best when it comes to style. They have hats specifically for your face shape so, it makes it a lot easier when picking out a hat. With hats ranging from the low $90’s, you’ll sure to find the perfect hat for you.

I’m not too familiar with this brand but, I do know they are black-owned.
While browsing through the site, I came across the custom section. An option that the other companies did not offer so I think this gives them a one-up. As for the prices they are a bit steep. I assume it’s due to the additional benefit of being able to customize your hat. Here are a few that I would recommend.

BRIXTON
A much more affordable brand with hats that run from $69 and up, so definitely on the cheaper side but not cheaply made. Here are a few of my few favorites that can be work all year round.
