I don’t know about you ladies, but shorts were never an option for me growing up. I never felt comfortable with wearing anything above my knees. For one, I never liked my legs, and two I never could find shorts that weren’t too short for my height. So I pretty much stayed away from them.
As I’ve grown into adulthood, I definitely taking a liking to them. The reason being is there are so many styles that we can choose from now. Depending on your comfortability when it comes to the height of your shorts, your options are endless. I particularly gravitate towards shorts that are more of a Bermuda Style. Those look best on me in my option, but I do have a few pairs of denim shorts that are mid-thigh. Very tasteful if you were wondering lol.
Here are a few styles of shorts that I recommend trying out. Keep in mind all styles can be dressed up or down. You can take them from casual to chic with just a few tweaks. Try adding some of the below items and make it work for you.
Items To Pair With Shorts
- Blazers
- Oversized button down shirts
- Silk button downs
- Kimonos
- White T-shirts
- Satin Cami
- Hoodies
- Tunic tops
- Pumps
- Sneakers
- Slides
- Loafers
So many things to jazz up a simple pair of shorts that can take your outfit from day to night in minutes.
Most importantly don’t forget your accessories ladies!
1. Boyfriend Shorts
These shorts are a loose-fitting pair of shorts with a relaxed baggy fit. It is usually oversized and distressed with lots of rips. Not so much my style but they are definitely cute on a lot of women.
2. Bermuda Shorts
These shorts are also known by another name of walking shorts or dress shorts, which end about 1 inch above the knee. It is semi-casual clothing and usually has a cuff at the hem. These are my personal favorite because they seem to look the best on my frame. Plus I am much more comfortable in them.
3. Boy Shorts
Boy shorts are shorts that are just a little longer than booty shorts. They are high-rise shorts but not actual booty shorts. I would say for my long legs ladies, go for it if you are 100% comfortable wearing them. Do you you boo!
4. Chino Shorts
These are classic knee-length walking shorts made of a cotton twill material. They are probably most worn by women who are of a certain age. Not saying younger women can’t wear these, but I’ve seen most women who are on the older side wear these and rock the heck out of them.
5. Capri Shorts
Capri shorts ends somewhere between 3-5 inch below the knee. In my opinion, they are almost the same length as Chino Shorts. I personally love Capri Shorts, even though only a small portion of legs are showing, and since we tall women have legs for days, most people may think we should stay away from them but I beg to differ. You can dress these up or down with a pair of classic white sneakers or even some pumps. It’s completely up to you.
There are plenty more styles out there that would look amazing on us tall women, So ladies don’t be afraid to try something new and most importantly embrace what God has blessed you with and that’s those amazing legs of yours.
Let the world see your beautiful legs!
