Most ladies will fight this tooth and nail but, all of the below tips are needed. When it comes to shopping and keeping up with trends we must have some sort of discipline. Otherwise, we will end up spending most of our money on clothes and have a closet full of things that don’t fit or really don’t like. So, here are a few tips you can implement into your life today to have fashion discipline.
1. DON’T BUY EVERY TREND
Trends will have you broke and buying everything you see from that influencers are wearing. We don’t want to do that, so let’s start strategically buying the things we need and not spend money on things we just see others have.
2. SHOP YOUR CLOSET
We are all guilty of just jumping up and going shopping without ever thinking to browse our closets first but, we should. You’d be surprised what you have hidden between some of your everyday go too’s. Let take your wardrobe basics as an example, If you have any of the below items in your wardrobe, you probably don’t need to shop. Most of the time you can take a basic white tee and turn that into an amazing chic outfit. With a little upgrade of course.
WARDROBE BASICS
- White Tee
- Black Tee
- White Button Up
- Black Cardigan
- Tan Cardigan
- Satin Blouse
- Black Moto Jacket
- Black Blazer
- Tan Blazer
- Tan Trench Coat
- Black Trench Coat
- Long Cardigan
- Denim Jeans
- Black Pencil Skirt
- Black Trousers
- Pumps Blk/Nude
- White Sneakers
- Black/Nude Sandals
3. STOP IMPULSE SHOPPING
I am guilty of this but, I’ve been making better choices lately when I shop. Impulse shopping isn’t bad but, when you constantly do it, it can quickly turn into a really bad spending habit. I would use a shopping app like Karma. This way you are adding items that you really love to a shopping list and shop from that. This way you aren’t randomly buying things you don’t need in your wardrobe.
4. KNOW WHEN TO SAY NO
It’s not easy walking away from an item in a store you think you need in your closet but, sometimes it’s a must. Having the willpower to say no is hard but, it can be done with a little discipline. So keep these tips in mind when shopping in-store or online. You’ll thank me later.
