Let’s get down to business with our work wardrobe and style. Most women in “Corporate America” typically go for the business casual style because that’s what’s in their company guidelines. With that, they stick to the basics and do not veer too far from that.
To be completely honest, it can be pretty frustrating trying to figure out what we can and can’t wear in an office but, to align your style with your career there are some quick steps you can take to start showing up as a leader.
THINK POWER LOOKS
When we think of power looks we think of “Power Suits” and “Power Dresses” but I would recommend women wear dresses since most of our most powerful women wear them (i.e Oprah and Michelle Obama). Don’t get stuck on just the typical colors like Black, Navy, and Blue. Think outside the box. You can still pull off a professional look with other colors that suit you.

SHOW UP AS A BOSS
It starts with grooming and presenting yourself as one. Being well-groomed defiantly helps with people approaching you. People are more prone to approach people who are well-groomed and dressed. So there you have it keep your hair, nail, and clothes up to par. You want to be addressed as a leader and dressing the part will definitely allow that.
CHOOSE FLATTERING CLOTHES
The worst thing you want to do is go buy a bunch of clothes and the fit is off and you didn’t take them to a tailor. Fit is the #1 key in looking neat and sharp. Yes, I said sharp lol. It’s true whenever you have tailored clothes on you look 100% better and neater. Find a great tailor in your neighborhood and start taking your clothes there that are slightly big. Remember you can always take in something that’s too big but not take out from something that’s too small. This will also add to your confidence level so definitely look at getting a tailor.
POSITION YOURSELF TO RECEIVE
When it comes to manifestation, I would always say to align yourself and get ready to receive what you ask for. Manifestation is so real and once you can envision yourself in a position it’s yours, So I would say think about walking into your new corner office with your Olivia Pope style and go slay and be the boss you’re meant to be.
