Let’s be honest who doesn’t love a sale? I know I do, but they aren’t always the best time to go shopping unless done strategically. Otherwise, you buy things that will sit in your wardrobe as appose to building a wardrobe full of clothes you would love to wear.
Here’s why sale shopping is a bad idea if not done correctly:
BAD SALE SHOPPING HABITS
🚫 STOP BUYING JUST BECAUSE IT’S ON SALE
It’s the #1 reason women have clothes and nothing to wear. Buying clothes just because you can doesn’t benefit your wardrobe or style.
🚫 NOT BEING INTENTIONAL
Shopping without a plan & strategy will ultimately be the downfall of your entire wardrobe.
🚫 SKIPPING OUT ON QUALITY
Women skip quality when they hear a sale is going on. Anytime you shop for a sale, you should choose quality over quantity. What I hear most is women are more concerned with the number of items they can get a bang for their buck instead of buying the best quality for their budget.
🚫 BUYING BASED ON DESIGNER ONLY
As a woman who loves fashion, this is something I’ve seen a lot. Just because something is a designer doesn’t mean you need to buy it because it’s on sale.
GOOD SALE SHOPPING HABITS
✅ BUYING THINGS THAT ARE CURRENTLY ON YOUR WISH LIST
It’s a way to get something you already wanted at half the cost. I love when things go on sale that I already have on my wish list.
✅ ANALYZE YOUR WARDROBE FIRST
The best thing you can and should always do is, do a wardrobe analysis before you add anything new to your wardrobe. It’s a way to determine what is missing and what is needed.
✅ PURCHASING QUALITY OVER QUANTITY
Choosing quality over quantity will be your key to having a wardrobe full of clothes that you will wear. Remember, people only wear 20% of their clothes 80% of the time. It is due to having bad shopping habits and not having style clarity.
✅ SHOP WITH A PLAN & STRATEGY
Something I recommend everyone do. It’s a great way to build the wardrobe of your dream. Creating that wish list and shopping from that will ultimately be your way of purchasing all the things you actually want instead of grabbing things only on sale.
