This blog post is strictly for my tall ladies who know the shopping dilemmas.

As tall women, we constantly struggle to find brands and styles that fit our frames. The bottom line is brands don’t cater to tall women like they should, which is one of the reasons we only have such a small handful of brands that cater to us.

In this article, I’ll talk about the good, bad, and ugly of shopping as a tall woman and what you can do to make each shopping experience enjoyable.

THE GOOD

Standing 6 feet tall, I can talk about the good all day. Some may think it’s a lot what I am about to tell you but trust me it is all worth it.

The first good is when it comes to shopping as a tall woman is tailoring. We often have to get our clothes tailored which may sound like a lot, but in reality, it’s not. It’s the most beneficial thing we can do to clothes we buy from our local stores.

The second good would be, discovering new brands. Since we have such a small number of brands that cater to us, we must do our due diligence and find new brands or brands that carry a tall section. It’s the fun part, discovering brands we’ve never heard of and not getting stuck on the ones we are used to shopping at.

The third good and the one I enjoy is, being creative and thinking outside the box. The main reason is I don’t technically have to dress and look like everyone else. We can be more creative by combining pieces to make one fancy outfit or look. It’s my favorite good out of the three.

Think about the other goods when you are shopping, and eliminate the slight struggles we may have.

THE BAD

The obvious! Which are brands not catering to us and finding stylish clothes made with the best quality. It’s a pain because you would think with so many designers out there, someone would think about us.

To touch on the quality a bit more, when brands actually cater to us, the items lack in the quality area. It’s the one thing that makes the clothes look and feel cheap and one of the reasons why tall women are frustrated when shopping. We love quality too but aren’t getting it when shopping for these brands.

THE UGLY

The final dilemma when shopping as a tall woman would be the frustration we encounter when going to 100 stores and can’t find a pair of pants that are long enough, a jacket with sleeves long enough to fit our arms, or finding a blouse that’s not way above our wrist.

So, in conclusion, the bad and the ugly can be addressed by doing a little research, finding the brands that cater to you, and being creative with your style.
