LEARN HOW TO SHOP LIKE A STYLIST

The secret to shopping like a stylist is to shop with a plan and strategy. In addition, the other part of that would be, understanding the needs of your wardrobe and what you need for your lifestyle. That’s it!

To effectively do this, you would follow a few steps and stick by them.

DETERMINE THE END GOAL

Figure out what you want your wardrobe to look like, create a Pinterest board and gather a few styles you like or love. Then ask yourself these questions, do you want your wardrobe to be full of trendy items or mixed with classics?. Or do you prefer a full-on closet full of luxury?

These are important questions to know before setting up your wardrobe goals before you head out shopping and grabbing everything you see.

WINDOW SHOP IN-STORE AND ONLINE

As a personal stylist myself, I find that women do not like shopping online or don’t window shop. I can say that if you’re not doing these two things, you’re missing out. It is to avoid overspending and buying things you don’t need. You have a chance to go back here and ponder on what you saw. It’s a smart way to shop and prepare your shopping list.

PREPARE YOUR SHOPPING LIST

Be realistic when creating your list. There is no need to spend $100 on a t-shirt when you can find an excellent quality one at your local Target. If you love luxury, but it may be out of your budget, do not go broke trying to keep up. Instead, try creating the look for less while still buying quality pieces.

STAY FOCUSED

Staying focused when shopping is the key to not overspending and buying things you don’t need. It’s easy to get sidetracked when you are in your favorite store because it can quickly happen.

These are the main elements when shopping like a stylist, but don’t forget to stay true to who you are, pull inspiration, and don’t copy. You won’t be 100% satisfied looking like someone else.

A personal stylist has an eye for stylish pieces so keep an eye out!
