It may be a little controversial, but what the heck!
Let’s talk about the many trends that come and go every six months and how it affects your overall wardrobe.
Trends are the culprit in someone having a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear. They come and go for one, but the styles and colors make it hard for you to wear them season after season. Now to bring in social media, it’s thrown in your face to the point where you can feel like you are not stylish if you don’t follow what everyone else is doing. I assure you that you don’t have to follow trends to be stylish, or fashionable.
So let’s jump into ” Why Social Media Can Damage Your View On Style”
YOU NEED TRENDS TO BE STYLISH
False, social has women and men under the assumption that you have to wear trends to be stylish, and like I previously said, it’s not true. You can easily incorporate trend colors while sticking to classic pieces. You don’t want to be stuck with a pink Tootoo in your wardrobe.
Remember, fashion is more of a collective, and Style is more related to the individual.
FORCED TO BUY DESIGNER ONLY
Now don’t get me wrong, designer items are the best, but you don’t need them; you want them. Social media pushes designer items in your face every chance it gets, but again it doesn’t make you stylish it just shows you can afford the luxury. They are two different things!
YOU CAN WEAR SOMETHING TWICE
I have no idea who started this trend, but you can absolutely wear your clothes more than once. It’s one of the reasons why I push interchangeable wardrobes because you can wear your items multiple ways without them looking like the same outfit from before.
Wear what you want, and don’t let social media damage your view on style!
